Term 4 Newsletter

Room 3 Team
Templeton Primary School

Thank you:  A very special thank you to our three wonderful parents who have kindly offered to help with our Room 3 Reading Club, it gives children another friendly face to read to on a daily basis.  Do you have just one hour on
Wednesdays 9-10am or Fridays 2-3pm to make a real difference?
Just remember, 5 ways to improve in reading is to read, read, read, read, read!  J

Reading:  Your child will continue to bring home a guided reading book in his/her book bag each Monday – Thursday.  Please find a relaxed time to read together, and return it the following day.

Poetry:  Each Friday, your child will bring home his/her poetry book to share with you along with a chosen guided reading book from the browse box.   Please return these each Monday.

Alphabet Display:  Each week a focus is on a letter of the alphabet, in both lower and upper case.  The ‘letter of the week’ will be the newest entry in the Home Learning book each Monday.  Each Tuesday, please assist your child in finding something of interest to place on the Alphabet Display.  These items will be returned each Friday.  Please be sure these items are inexpensive to avoid an uncomfortable situation if the item is lost or damaged.

Numeracy Placemats:  Best of luck as you spend small snippets of time regularly to help your child improve their numeracy knowledge.  Updates will be in your child’s home learning book.  We will celebrate as your child masters each stage!

Topic:   What wonderful support we had with our PJ Day and pop-up cupcake sale to raise money to adopt a kiwi at Orana Park.  Thank you!  Please keep an eye on our blog for kiwi adoption updates.  This term we are launching into learning about Inventors/Inventions.  Later in the term, we’ll even make our own inventions.  We just know the children will have great ideas!

Library Day:  Fridays.

Blog:  Please share with your family members far and wide:  room3templeton.blogspot.com  and check regularly.  We have some gorgeous captured moments and special work we’re all proud of.

Contact:  Feel very welcome in our classroom.  Your child will be proud to share their learning with you.  If you have something you would like to discuss with me, the best time to see me is before school from 8.30am. However, this can be a busy time and if you have something specific to talk about, please be sure to make an appointment…. It is important!

Here’s to a wonderful final term for you and your child in Room 3!
